Comprehensive and individualised care plans can help manage chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis and chronic pain to achieve optimal health. Some care plan patients are eligible for referral to allied health providers.
Skin Cancer Checks
The Doctors can do a screen skin check and follow up with any skin lesion removals if necessary. A long appointment will be required for this service.
Minor On-Site Procedures
Other minor procedures our doctors and nurses may assist you with include Cryo - freezing therapy for sunspots, any warts or moles to be removed, any treatment of abscesses, ear wax removal, ECG and Spirometry – lung function tests.
Asthma Check and Cycle of Care
Currently there is no cure for asthma. However there are effective and safe treatments to manage the disease and stop or minimize the symptoms. It is a good idea to work with your GP to develop an Asthma Plan so that you know what treatment to use.
Diabetes Check and Cycle of Care
Treatment of Type 1 diabetes always involves insulin but for the more common Type 2 diabetes most patients will start with tablets. For all diabetics a healthy diet & weight, exercise, alcohol moderation and not smoking are important and monitoring and management of your diabetes will often involve your GP, a dietitian, pharmacist and optometrist.
Occupational Medicine & Work Cover Consultations
The aim is to treat, manage and prevent injuries, help with return to work planning, pre-employment medicals and WorkCover consultations.
45 -49 years Health Checks
A comprehensive health check is recommended for all people aged between 45-49 to identify any health issues. Areas assessed are the patient’s lifestyle, mobility, medication, nutrition, and exercise.
Health Assessments Over 75 years
A comprehensive health check is recommended for all people aged 75 and over to identify any health issues. Areas assessed are the patient’s lifestyle, mobility, medication, nutrition, and exercise.
Drivers Licence Medicals
Private and Commercial Drivers Licence Medicals is a service we can provide. This service cannot be Bulk Billed therefore it will be a private fee which will have to be paid on the day of service. After the doctor has completed the appropriate forms, the forms will then be e-mailed on the day of medical, if no other reports are required, to the department and the original medical assessment will be posted. A copy of your medical will be kept in your file for future reference.
Trotting Licence Medicals
The trotting medical can be performed at the practice but the patient will require to bring the appropriate paperwork to complete. This medical cannot be Bulk Billed so a private fee will have to be paid before leaving the practice. The medical is copied into your file for future reference and the original is posted to the Trotting Association.
Allied Health Professionals
We have adjacent to the practice 3 allied health professionals. The Podiatrist, Physiotherapist and Chiropractor will require a referral which can be arranged with a GP Consultation.
Iron Infusions
Iron Infusions are given to patients who have low levels of iron in their body. The test is checked via a blood test. A consult is required before having the infusion which will be Bulk Billed. The actual procedure is a separate consult and will have to be booked on another day and a fee will apply before leaving the practice.
Blood Tests
Clinipath collection is our on-site blood collection agency. The Clinipath Laboratories are well-respected, established pathology and managed by a high qualified team of medical, scientific and management staff.
