Byford Family Practice is a BULK BILLING practice when consulting with one of our General Practitioners for anyone who holds a current Medicare card and claiming a current Medicare item number.
For patients who don’t hold a current Medicare Card a standard consultation fee is $60.00. This may vary depending on the medical service provided.
The following consults/medical services are privately billed and must be paid on the day of visit.
Some vaccinations are provided for free through the government schedule, but travel and non-government schedule vaccinations are generally not covered by the Australian government.
Byford family practice provide walk in appointments Monday to Friday from 7am till 9am. No appointment is required.
For patients experiencing language or disability difficulties, a translator can be arranged. If you require this service please discuss this with our receptionist when making your appointment. Our Doctors also speak the following languages: Hindi, Tamil, Sinhalese, Russian, African, Romanian, Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian

Our Dial a Doctor after-hours service will attend your premises for the visit. All current Medicare card holders will be Bulked Billed for this service. A report of the consultation will be provided to your Doctor.
You will be automatically enrolled in our Recall/ Reminder system to inform you of recurring healthcare issues such as annual check-ups, care planning and immunisations. Please advise the receptionist if you do not wish to participate. Patients will be contacted for recalls when clinically indicated and necessary.
If the doctor considers that a medical need exists for specialist treatment a referral will be provided. It is therefore important to make an appointment with the doctor who will discuss your problem with you and help you to decide on the appropriate course of action.
Medical certificates are legal documents. In order to obtain a medical certificate for work a consultation with your doctor is required. It is not legal to back date a certificate.
Patients are required to make a follow up appointment to discuss any results. Urgent and Non Urgent Appointments, patients will be contacted by one of our staff members to schedule an appointment. This will be made via phone call or SMS text.
You may leave a message with the receptionist to forward to your Doctor and he/she will endeavour to return your call. Patient feedback is welcomed and forms are available at reception.
